How Did I Become a Pacifist?

During my stay in Marbella, I realized something was wrong with me. Please don’t misunderstand me, I’m still in love with the arms industry and technologies. But should we necessarily use them?

It started with Donald Trump and Elon Musk. I hate the left, to which people cling in relatively calm times. Luckily, I don’t have to participate in American elections, as I would have to submit to the Democrats’ populism, which even made me more sympathetic to Kamala Harris and Tim Walz than I ever expected. However, this transformation, as Franz Kafka would say, occurred within me because of Republican actions. Donald Trump ostentatiously favoured the billionaire and officially the richest man in the world, Elon Musk, in recent weeks. As a capitalist, I support tax breaks for entrepreneurs, but actions for one man kill competition and mean that many businessmen, even those from outside the U.S., would die in their infancy due to these changes. The abortion of entrepreneurship is much more terrifying to me than any aspects used in the campaign to emotionalize the abortion of pregnancy in the U.S.

As an entrepreneur from the United States, I would probably support Donald Trump, despite the clumsy, almost anti-campaign conducted by Elon Musk on X, but as a threatened capitalist by the proposed tax on goods from abroad, I cannot support him.

Does this mean Kamala Harris is better? Absolutely not. Kamala Harris is also a hysterical prosecutor; I can’t imagine a prosecutor as a president, I fear the character of this profession does not fit well with the temperament expected from a leading diplomat of the state. I like Tim Walz more than Kamala Harris, but seeing his name, I can’t forget that the honour granted to him belongs to Josh Shapiro, the only worthy man among the Democrats.

I am a Zionist, and although I support every military action of Israel that has taken place, I regularly confront materials published by Hamas and Islamic Jihad to ensure I am aware. Although I oppose staged propaganda films distributed by terrorists via seemingly civilian profiles on social media, I am not a monster craving inhuman cruelty, and all I desire is a safe Gaza. Safe, without the apartheid that Israel is accused of, though I remind you that terrorists inhabiting Gaza have long prohibited entry to Jews. The number of Arabs and Muslims living, residing, studying, working, using public transport, and receiving medical treatment on equal terms with Jews exceeds 21.1% of the population of Israel. Naively perhaps, I await the day when both Israelis and Arabs can feel safe in Gaza.

Though weeks have passed since this awakening, and my enthusiasm has waned, I still dream of a new, naively wonderful world. I would like the hostages to return. I would like everyone murdered by Hamas to return to their loved ones. I wish no child had to pay the price of war.

Fuck Purim 2025

But he’s not with me anymore, so whether it’s fucking Purim or some damn joyful month of Adar, what difference does it make?
